Framing is a very important part of the
art work. Well chosen color, material, profile, width, character and texture of the frame increases the visual value of the painting. Alicja’s creativity helps to make unique artworks consisting of vibrant paintings and matching frames. The most amazing effects can be achieved with custom made frames. There are hundreds of color possibilities, profiles and
characters of the frames. If you like simplicity and prefer a lower price than there is also an option to go with a standard frame. As there are many possibilities, it’s best to contact Alicja so she can make a unique offer for you. Don't hesitate to mail or call.
Choice from more than 450 frames
Custom made frames
There is an enormous variety of colors and styles within the range of custom made frames. As well as the variety of these frames, there are also other possibilities such as a variety of passe-partout colors. The width of the passe-partout can also be specified and chosen to ensure the most beautiful composition. Passe-partout is a 3-5mm thick carton, which the inside edge cuts fine in 45 degrees. This carton doesn’t only have an amazing visual aspect but it also gives true depth to the painting and keeps it away from the protective glass. This ensures that the surface of the painting will not get damaged. As an example, the pineapple has a double passe-partout: the pink-gray, which is 1,5 cm wider than the white one, which is positioned on the top.
Double passe-partout
Double passe-partout gives an extra 3D impression: depth. The pink-gray color of the first passe-partout is light although it defines the framework in a subtle way. This creates a catchy effect. The background around the pineapple is very white. Without the colored passe-partout the white background of the work and white passe-partout added together would make the pineapple look flaw and lost in space.
Next to the more classy frames, there are also some more modern frames in vibrant colors. Bright frames, such as the one below, look amazing around children’s portraits.
Single passe-partout
There is a large range of color passe-partouts. It's quite challenging to make the right choice. The color of the frame and passe-partout will enhance the beauty of the artwork. Alicja can help you make the best choice for you.
There are also different types of glass to be used. The normal glass is mirroring light. Museum glass will protect the work against UV light. The colors of the painting will stay fresh and vibrant for ages. This glass doesn’t reflect any light. In other words, while standing in the front of the portrait, it looks like there is no glass and you can actually touch the work behind it. This glass is, however, more expensive. Another option (a must when framing bigger works) is a plexy. This material is a combination of plastic and other fabrics. The main advantage of plexy is the light weight of it. Prices for custom made frames are upon request.
Standard frames
Standard frames are in standard sizes for example 30x30cm, 40x40cm, 50x60cm, 60x80cm and more. The available colors are gold, silver, white, black. Wooden frames are also available: raw wood and white wood. The smallest frame with standard passé-partout costs €45.
