In the workshop, you will gain knowledge about the technique and color mixing, as well as learn tricks to create impressive depth, 3D effects & captivating light and shadow play in your Aquarelle painting. You’ll gain not only a solid understanding of the basics, but also a bundle of practical tips ~ personally demonstrated by Alicja ~ to help you achieve realistic results in your aquarelle painting.Depending on how deep and detailed you’d like to go, you can choose between a 1-day workshop or a 3-day series. Both formats are designed for complete beginners, with approachable subjects such as fruits, flowers, or vegetables. In the longer workshop, you’ll have more time to explore in-depth insights, detailing, refine your technique & gain greater confidence in your watercolor work.

The sessions take place in private art studio in Voorburg, just a 5-minute walk from train station Laan van NOI in The Hague. It’s a cosy and quiet space designed for a maximum of 6 students, so everyone receives individual attention. For larger or special 3-day workshops, we also work at external locations.
Types of workshops
1-DAY WORKSHOP (5 hours)

Step into the world of watercolor with this 1-day workshop designed especially for total beginners. You’ll learn the essentials of aquarelle ~ how to control water, hold the brush, and build up layers with color. We’ll focus on simple, charming subjects like fruits, herbs, or single flowers ~ perfect for learning without feeling overwhelmed. Alicja will guide you through each step, sharing practical tips that instantly improve your results.
By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with your first finished painting and a real feel for the medium. No experience needed ~ just curiosity & a creative spark!
3-DAY WORKSHOP SERIES (15 hours total)
This 3-day workshop series is also designed for total beginners,
but offers more time to explore the aquarelle technique in greater depth & detail. Over three sessions (spread across a month or one week in summer season), you’ll practice painting slightly more complex subjects ~ such as multi-colored vegetables, flowers with detailed structure, or mushrooms with textures and patterns.You’ll refine your skills in water control, layering, and color transitions, while gaining deeper insight into how to build contrast, volume, and form. With Alicja’s personal guidance throughout, you'll make impressive progress ~ even if you're just starting out. When there are more than 6 participants, we host the workshop at external venues in Den Haag, Voorburg, Rotterdam, or Amsterdam.

Our aquarelle sessions are designed to keep things fresh and engaging. While some subjects may return by popular demand, the workshops are often different, offering new themes & challenges for returning students. From vibrant fruits and expressive vegetables to textured flowers or mushrooms, each session introduces practical techniques through carefully chosen subjects.
Custom workshops
In addition to our regular classes, Alicja also offers custom aquarelle workshops on request, tailored to the interests of your group. With a minimum of 5 participants, you can book a 5-hour session focused on the essentials of watercolor, ending with a completed artwork. Looking for more depth? A 3-day series is also available, allowing more time to explore a theme in detail and develop your technique further.
